My Last Song I Sing For You
About My Last Song I Sing For You
Paul Hensby wrote the lyrics and Raphael Oyelade is the talented young vocalist who brings them to life.
Leonie and Rich transformed my lyrics into a great song, and I am full of admiration. My love, respect and thanks.
The melody was written by Leonie Casanova and Richard Bignell. Richard was also the recording engineer. He runs Area 18 in Acton.
Rich played keyboard, guitar, bass and percussion. Neil Marshall was the drummer, Rob Townsend was the sax and whistle player. The string parts were played by the Courante Quartet, led by Young Pyo Lee.
The background vocalists are Leonie Casanova, Mabel Holland, Annabelle Oversby and Zoe Gelber.
About the video
The shoot was a gas. Every time the camera pointed at Raphael and he heard the word: Action! he put in a great performance. On a couple of shots he wasn’t happy with his part and insisted on another take.
His girlfriend was played by Zoe Jones who made us all smile.
The director was Jonny Briggs who also spent a lot of time and creativity doing the post production. Ryan Nichol was the gaffer and Giles Andrews the director of photography.
Rebecca Collins let us use her flat.
It was a mad, happy, intense two days. I’m so pleased with the result and grateful to all concerned. Thanks everyone, Paul Hensby.
