Boston: More Than A Feeling
One of the more varied lists and each a great song. Thanks to Senyo Agbohlah.
Three first time tracks, with Shosholoza hopefully inspiring similar lists from those to whom the rise of the new rainbow South Arica was one of the most important political achievements of our lifetimes.
Nkosi Sikel'i - Shosholoza (South Africa): Ladysmith Black Mambazo
The song that signifies the new South Africa. It is sung in Zulu and means going forward, and despite the hardship and sacrifices on the way, a better future beckons. There couldn't be a better statement for me, or for Africa.
More Than A Feeling: Boston
Classic hard rock. Smokin' guitar solo...yet the lyric so gentle. 'When I'm tired I hide in my music, forget the day and dream of a girl that I used to know.'
I Say A Little Prayer: Aretha Franklin
A gorgeous love song from the Queen of Soul that says exactly how love can make you feel...the journey of a day spent thinking of that special person.
Three Little Birds: Bob Marley
'Don't worry 'bout a thing, cos every little thing gonna be alright'...Marley's song of optimism and being positive. A much loved song that means a lot to me.
Forever Love: Anna Nalick
She has the voice of an angel, and in this beautiful love song sings the verse: 'When you smile/With those eyes/Baby it's like/You place a finger on my heart/And your lips next to mine/Make me think that maybe heaven's where you are. '
