Van Morrison: Into The Mystic
Louise Harris, founder of Sentiment, gets the idea completely.
We hope it's going to be a long time before these great songs will be played at her farewell. In the meantime, listen to these great songs and know better the life Louise has lived and enjoys living.
Into The Mystic: Van Morrison
The words in this song mean something different to everyone. For me it’s about my free spirited soul, my hippy heart and dancing the night away with my soul mate always trusting and hoping that we’ll dance until we’re old and then one day meet in the mystic when our time is called . I Have loved this song since I was a young teen, this song has always been in the jukebox of my mind and has always been by my side, it makes me feel light and happy reminding me how much I love life... I hope that when this is played at my funeral it will make everyone sway and smile.
Three Little Birds: Bob Marley
Most people who know me know I am a massive reggae lover, it’s the most commercial of reggae music but I love the words... For me its iconic, whether its three little birds that you see in the morning or some other sign, but may it be the rain clouds or the smile of your kids you know that if you trust life – everything really will be alright. I want everyone singing their heart out to this at my funeral – and when they see each other signing – there’ll know every little thing really will be alright.
Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen): Quindon Tarver
I remember the first time I heard this song, driving in my little red car round from my student digs to campus - I was blown away and still to this day I have the words on the inside on the inside of the cupboard door. It makes me laugh and cry and I like the teachings – live life light, and... DANCE. I’m also that person who is always giving advice, so it’s the last way of me ‘giving my last advice to those I love’.
A special time in my 20’s where a bunch of us roll out of a London club at 6am in the morning, in the taxi home we watched as the morning sun reflected off the city buildings . We laugh and giggled all the way home. When got home we put the kettle on and had a cup of tea and looked out onto the views of the city. Still to this day I loved that moment, still to this day I love those friends, still to this day I put this song on an remember how much I just love life.
When The Night Feels My Song: Bedouin Soundclash
This song is dedicated to my kids and my husband. My daughter Connie was born to this song, we sing it most days. We sing it to daddy when he’s grumpy, we sing it to Arabella when we’re trying to calm her, we sing it loud in the car, we hum it all day long, and we get the words mixed up even after all these years. It s a beautiful song – and every day is a beautiful day.
